BTS member Jin will represent South Korea by carrying the torch at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. According to a music industry source cited by the Korea Times, the K-pop star will travel to France for the prestigious event, which begins on July 26.
Details about the exact date and location of Jin’s participation are yet to be disclosed. The Summer Olympics, held every four years, will run from July 26 to August 11 this year in Paris.
At least 15 athletes from the Philippines have already qualified for the Paris Games, with more expected to join as the event approaches. Notably, Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo has already traveled to France to prepare for the competition.
Jin recently completed his 18-month military service on June 12, having enlisted in December 2022. Following his discharge, he led this year’s Festa, BTS’ annual month-long celebration of their anniversary on June 13. BTS is anticipated to reconvene in 2025.
