Authorities at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 have arrested a British man after discovering 15 kilograms of suspected high-grade cannabis, or “kush,” in his luggage.
The incident happened around 8:40 p.m. last Thursday during a routine inspection at the Customs International Arrival Area. Members of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) flagged the passenger, identified only as “Patrick,” who had just arrived from Bangkok, Thailand.
Upon inspection, officers found 35 transparent plastic pouches wrapped in packaging tape inside his luggage. The packages contained dried leaves suspected to be marijuana kush, weighing a total of 15,078 grams.
The seized items were turned over to authorities for further testing and investigation, while the suspect remains in custody pending the filing of charges.
