Filipino singer Moira Dela Torre has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 2 billion streams on Spotify. The “Tagpuan” hitmaker took to Instagram to express her gratitude to fans and supporters for making her the first Filipino and Filipina artist to reach this milestone.
“Today, you guys made me the first Filipino artist and the first Filipina artist to reach 2 billion streams on Spotify,” Moira wrote in her post. “Thank you. TWO BILLION TIMES THANK YOU.”
Celebrity friends, including Marjorie Barretto, KC Concepcion, and “It’s Showtime” host Jhong Hilario, flocked to the comments section to congratulate her on this achievement.
Moira joins the band Ben&Ben as the only two Original Pinoy Music (OPM) artists to surpass the 2 billion stream mark on the platform. This accomplishment adds to her accolades, as she has been named Spotify Philippines’ most streamed female artist for six consecutive years since 2017.
Her success isn’t confined to Spotify alone. Last year, Moira was the only Filipino nominee at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Known for her soulful and heartfelt music, Moira is the voice behind hit songs like “Paubaya,” “Ikaw at Sila,” and “Hilom.”
