A six-year-old autistic boy in Malaysia suffered a traumatic injury when a horse bit off his left earlobe during a family outing at an agro-farm in Seremban on January 19, The Straits Times/Asia News Network reported.
The boy’s father, Suhaimi Mohd Rafi, 31, shared that the incident happened as they were leaving the farm after a supervised horse ride and photo session. While the family was taking pictures, a nearby horse suddenly bit the child’s ear and headbutted him, causing his head to hit a metal bar.
The boy was rushed to a private hospital, where he underwent surgery and was discharged three days later. Although the medical costs, totaling RM10,400 (P136,000), were covered by insurance, Suhaimi sought RM5,000 in compensation from the agro-farm. However, the management offered only RM500.
The father expressed frustration over the blame directed at him, stating that farm staff had assured them of the area’s safety before allowing them inside. The incident has left the child traumatized.
