Book lovers rejoice! Big Bad Wolf brings over 250,000 books to UAE from AED 2

Ajman is opening its doors to one of the world’s largest literary events as the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale makes its debut in the emirate. Backed by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, the much-anticipated sale will run from September 25 to October 5, 2025 at Youth X HUB, offering visitors more than 250,000 books at discounts of up to 90 percent. Prices start as low as AED 2, with free entry daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The announcement was made at a press conference on September 4, where officials from the Ajman Government, Ajman Department of Tourism Development, and Big Bad Wolf organizers emphasized the event’s role in reinforcing Ajman’s growing reputation as a cultural and educational hub. This edition is also supported by the Sharjah Book Authority, the Private Education Affairs Office in Ajman, and Youth X HUB.

“We are delighted to welcome the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale to Ajman for the first time,” said Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development. “Being part of this landmark event underscores our commitment to enriching Ajman’s educational and cultural landscape, advancing literacy, and facilitating access to knowledge.”

Big Bad Wolf founder Andrew Yap stressed the global mission behind the event: “Our mission is simple — to make reading accessible to everyone around the world. Knowledge must never be a privilege. It must be accessible to all. Big Bad Wolf’s mandate is to change the world, one book at a time.”

Board Member Noor Mohamed added, “Every city we visit is another step forward in our mission to make books accessible and to inspire a love of reading. The UAE has a vibrant community of readers, and we look forward to welcoming families, students, and book lovers to discover the magic of stories at incredible value.”

Founded in 2009 by entrepreneurs Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng, Big Bad Wolf has grown into a global phenomenon, reaching more than 50 cities across 17 countries. With Ajman now becoming its 51st stop, readers in the UAE can expect a wide variety of genres — from children’s stories to thrillers, cookbooks, self-help, and beyond.
