Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and ACT-CIS Party-list Representative Erwin Tulfo are statistically tied at the top of the latest senatorial preference survey conducted by RPMD Foundation Inc. as part of its “Boses ng Bayan” initiative.
Revilla secured 53% support, narrowly edging out Tulfo, who garnered 52%. Senator Bong Go followed closely with 50%, placing third, while former Senate President Tito Sotto ranked fourth with 49%. Completing the top five was former Senator Manny Pacquiao with 46%.
The survey, conducted from December 20 to 28, 2024, polled 3,500 respondents nationwide, asking them to name up to 12 candidates they would vote for in the upcoming 2025 elections.
Notable names in the top 10 included broadcaster Ben Tulfo (43%), Senator Pia Cayetano (40%), and former DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos (39%). Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino ranked ninth with 36%, while Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar rounded out the top 10 with 33%.
The survey also highlighted emerging competition, with candidates like Senator Imee Marcos (30%) and former Senator Ping Lacson (29%) vying for spots alongside political veterans.
Revilla’s strong showing in the survey comes as he continues to rebuild his political career following his acquittal in 2018 in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam. Accused of embezzling public funds in one of the country’s largest corruption cases, Revilla spent four years in detention before being cleared of plunder charges, though he was ordered to return ₱124.5 million to the treasury.
