Dindo Balares, a close friend of Kris Aquino, addressed false rumors circulating on social media that Bimby Aquino, Kris’s son, was seen getting “intimate” with a man on a beach. Balares clarified on Instagram that Bimby is not the individual in the viral photos and affirmed that Bimby is heterosexual.
“STRAIGHT SI BIMB (Bimb is straight),” Balares wrote emphatically, dismissing the claims. He explained that the photos, which sparked the rumors, were actually from an engagement celebration of a happy gay couple at the beach, where one of the men resembled Bimby due to his build, glasses, and hairstyle.
Balares criticized the spread of the fake news, noting its impact on both journalists and the public. “Imagine kung pati journalists nga nagdadalawang-isip… e, ‘di lalo na ang publiko,” he remarked, pointing out the homophobic reactions and judgments that surfaced in comment threads.
The retired journalist, known for his experience in the entertainment industry, assured his followers that Bimby is indeed straight and hinted at sharing more stories about him in the future. Balares is widely recognized for his stories about Kris Aquino, who is currently receiving medical treatment abroad for her autoimmune diseases.
This statement comes after Bimby gained attention online for his participation in a “boyfriend for a day” challenge with vlogger Erin Diaz, daughter of actor and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz.
