The ‘All-Spark Meet-up’ rolled out at the Dubai Outlet Mall last September 14, 2024 and transformed the city into a geek paradise, uniting collectors, gamers, and pop culture enthusiasts for an unforgettable Transformers-themed event!
Powered by Comicave UAE, Robosen and Hasbor, along with dozens of participants from diverse collecting genres and communities, the event was a spectacular fusion of fandoms, gaming, and live competitions celebrating the inner ‘Spark’ for each passionate collector. The energy was electric as attendees came together to celebrate the event activations, ahead of the release of the film Transformers: ONE.
Fans from every corner of the geek universe in the UAE converged to share their love and passion for geek culture. Tables were filled with treasures that ranged from trading cards, comic books and Funko Pops to anime figures and die-cast cars. Collectors from various genres proudly displayed their collections and merchandise, sparking conversations and trading opportunities among fans.
The event also showcased the promotion of various cultures including Vintage Philippine Writing and Calligraphy by Anyo, Origami and Calligraphy by Japan In Arabia, Kudlit’s traditional crafts and handiworks, and a display of Designer toys from Filipino creators such as Quiccs, Rlux Customs, ChkDsk, Wetworks and Creon Chkn.
Multiple rounds of Magic: The Gathering Tournament by the Duel and Tito Commanders Community, Die-cast Car Competition by the Hot Wheels and Die Cast Cars UAE, Cosplay Battle by Cosplay AE and Tamiya Racing by Otaku ME excited the crowds, all led by independent community leaders curating the action.
The Tekken 8 tournament powered by ZGames was a major highlight, bringing together gamers from all over to showcase their skills in fierce head-to-head battle. Cheered on by enthusiastic spectators, skilled players showcased their fighting prowess, making this competition one of the weekend’s most exciting events.
Rove Hotels had drawn lucky attendees into availing special hotel stays, and Four Star Films has showcased the official trailer for the latest Transformers film and eventually invited lucky attendees to join the Middle East Premiere! In addition, Cocomo has unveiled their limited- edition Transformers: ONE biscuit line which was shared to participants and attendees alike. Esteemed guests such as the Filipino Social Club and the Philippine Consulate Office also extended their support and addressed the participants and attendees for their camaraderie, passion and hard work.
The incredible sense of community and camaraderie was at the very heart of the event. Participants and collectors from different backgrounds came together to celebrate their shared passion and interest. The event provided an inclusive space for fans to express their creativity, trade collectibles, and enjoy friendly competition.
