Netflix has officially unveiled the release date and first trailer for the highly anticipated “Money Heist” spinoff series, “Berlin.”
Fans of the charismatic criminal Berlin, portrayed by Pedro Alonso, will be thrilled to see the character returning for a solo adventure in a prequel series that explores his golden era as he plans a massive heist in Paris.
The new show, conceived by Money Heist creator Álex Pina, is set to premiere on December 29.
The freshly released trailer invites viewers into Berlin’s luxurious yet perilous world in the French capital, which includes indulging in champagne, engaging in love affairs, and gracing lavish parties.
But this hedonistic lifestyle demands a substantial finance which can only be sustained by engaging in high-stake heists.
In this journey of thrill and opulence, Berlin prepares to orchestrate an extreme heist aiming to disappear with $44 million worth of jewels.
As the show’s tagline insightfully notes, “Berlin says there are only two things that can turn a bad day into a great one: love and a million-dollar payday.”
Joining Pedro Alonso in this riveting tale are stars Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, Michelle Jenner, Julio Peña Fernández, and Joel Sánchez.
The storyline presents Berlin recruiting a skilled team of criminals, including the cybersecurity whiz Keila, his close friend and academic Damián, the unpredictable Cameron, loyal locksmith Roi, and weapons expert Bruce.
Together, they form a team prepared to face the hefty challenges that lie ahead.
Berlin first graced our screens in the inaugural season of “Money Heist,” becoming a central character as the Professor’s older brother.
Despite meeting a tragic end in the series, his captivating persona left a lasting impression on fans, which has paved the way for this prequel to delve deeper into Berlin’s vibrant yet dangerous world.
