Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville “Jinky Britics” Luistro is facing a string of complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman, accusing her of graft, vote-buying, premature campaigning, and alleged misuse of public funds. The complaints were filed anonymously.
The lawmaker, who is seeking re-election in 2025, brushed off the allegations during a campaign stop in San Pascual, Batangas, describing the accusations as baseless. “Chill lang, relax lang, kayang-kayang kaya ni Britics yan,” she said in an ABS-CBN News report, adding that the complaint had “no details, no evidence,” and likened it to a “chopsuey” of weak claims.
According to the complaint, Luistro allegedly leveraged various government aid programs — including AICS, AKAP, TUPAD, and national scholarships — to bolster her re-election bid. It noted that her name and image appeared on tarpaulins during distributions, some of which allegedly occurred within the campaign period — a possible violation of COMELEC and DSWD guidelines.
The anonymous complainant also cited evidence sourced from social media accounts linked to Luistro’s official Facebook page.
Luistro denied the claims, saying she never violated any part of the election code. She maintained that the aid distributions were part of nationwide government programs long implemented before the campaign started.
“These forms of assistance are crucial for our constituents. I hope they aren’t tainted by political motives,” she said.
Luistro is running against former congressman Raneo Abu in the upcoming polls.
