Actor Baron Geisler broke his silence on Monday, February 24, addressing reports about his alleged detention in Mandaue City, Cebu, due to public intoxication.
Geisler criticized news outlets for spreading unverified claims, saying, “There’s a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting.” He described the situation as being blown out of proportion, adding, “Irresponsible journalism has created unnecessary confusion.”
The actor assured the public that he was fine and was seeking legal advice regarding the issue. He also expressed gratitude to his supporters, stating, “To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything.”
Reports indicated that Geisler was taken into custody by the Canduman Police Station in the early hours of Saturday, February 22, for allegedly causing a disturbance while intoxicated in his neighborhood. He was reportedly charged under Mandaue’s City Ordinance No. 11-2008-434, which penalizes severe intoxication.
The actor was released the following day after paying a P500 fine.
