The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) have partnered to enhance reintegration initiatives for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.
CFO Secretary Dante Ang II emphasized the significance of the collaboration, calling it a step forward in providing programs that support OFWs returning to the Philippines, including those transitioning back into the workforce. “This event brings us closer to streamlining programs that aid overseas Filipinos who wish to return to the motherland,” Ang said.
The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by Ang and Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac during the International Migrants Day celebration at the Philippine International Convention Center. The agreement focuses on the BaLinkBayan Project, the CFO’s flagship initiative aimed at connecting overseas Filipinos with government services, entrepreneurial opportunities, and diaspora engagement programs.
Ang highlighted that the agreement equips the BaLinkBayan Project with better data, ensuring more efficient services for OFWs. Cacdac added that the partnership aligns with the government’s push for sustainable reintegration opportunities, including financial literacy and education programs for OFWs and their families.
