Hudson Joseph Meek, best known for his role as the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in the 2017 film Baby Driver, has passed away at the age of 16. The actor died on December 21 after sustaining injuries from falling out of a moving vehicle two days earlier, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. He was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital.
Meek’s family shared the tragic news in a heartfelt statement on his Instagram page, saying, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
His management, J Pervis Talent Agency, paid tribute to the young actor, describing him as “more than just a talent.” They praised his enthusiasm, kindness, and ability to brighten any room.
Meek’s career included appearances in MacGyver, Found, and The School Duel, in addition to his standout role in Baby Driver. He is survived by his parents and an older brother.
Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.
