Authorities hunt men seen dancing naked on motorcycles in viral Zamboanga video

Authorities in Zamboanga City are tracking down two young men who were caught on video dancing naked while riding motorcycles—without helmets—along a public road, drawing public outrage and concern over safety and public decency.

The stunt, which quickly spread on social media, showed the men performing the act along Governor Camins Avenue. The Zamboanga City Hall has since tasked its CCTV Command Center to review surveillance footage to aid in identifying the individuals involved.

“Nakita natin doon sa viral , nakikita yung plate number ng motor, klaro. So ang pulis na ang mag-pursue ng kaso na ito,” said retired Colonel Edwin De Ocampo from the Office of the City Mayor in a 24 Oras report, stressing that the video clearly shows the motorcycle’s plate number.

Zamboanga City Police Station 11 confirmed it has identified the registered owner of one of the motorcycles used in the stunt. In coordination with the Land Transportation Office, authorities said they are preparing to file charges.

“Through close coordination with the Land Transportation Office, we have successfully verified the registered owner of the motorcycle involved in the incident. Appropriate charges, such as alarm and scandal, and violations of existing traffic laws, will be filed against the individuals responsible,” the police said in a statement.

Officials also pointed out that the video was recorded during curfew hours for minors, which run from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. The city government has called on barangay officials to tighten curfew enforcement and prevent similar incidents in the future.
