Ateneo launches leadership and social entrepreneurship program in Bahrain

The Ateneo Leadership & Social Entrepreneurship Overseas Filipinos – Leadership, Innovation, Financial Literacy and Social Entrepreneurship (ALSE OF-LIFE) Batch 133 Bahrain pilot launch took place on June 28, 2024. This inaugural event marked a significant milestone for the program, aimed at empowering Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through education and community engagement.

The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Anne Jalando-on Louis, Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, Ms. Celia Cabadonga, OIC of the Migrant Workers Office Bahrain, Welfare Officer Amelito Adel of OWWA, and Mr. Ric Advincula, President of Filipino Club Bahrain and Lead Secretariat of the program in Bahrain. The dedicated volunteer secretariat team included Rosemarie Hernandez, Thess Coral, Cristina Mallara, Christin Joy Jor, Melinda Nomananap, and Kathrina Canosa.

ASoG Dean Dr. Philip Arnold Tuaño delivered the opening remarks, setting the tone for the program’s mission and values. Renne Subido, ALSE OF-LIFE resident adjunct volunteer faculty, was also present.

A highlight of the launch was the first Life Enrichment (LE) session facilitated by retired Ambassador Grace Relucio Princesa, a respected volunteer faculty member of ASoG.

The ALSE OF-LIFE Batch 133 pilot launch took place at the Sentro Rizal Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, enrolling 36 students. This event embodied the program’s commitment to Ignatian values of service and positively impacting the community.
