The Dubai Criminal Court has handed down a death sentence to an Arab man for the premeditated murder of his European girlfriend, marking a grim conclusion to a case that has shocked the community.
The tragic incident dates back to July 2020, when the man meticulously orchestrated the murder following his girlfriend’s decision to end their relationship. This decision was influenced by her involvement with another individual, leading the defendant to plot a horrific revenge.
On the day of the crime, the man gained access to her residence and carried out a gruesome attack, which resulted in her death. The victim was found by a security guard, lying in a pool of blood, after he was alerted to a disturbance on the seventh floor of the building.
Investigations revealed a turbulent history between the couple, dating back to 2017. The victim had previously fled the country to escape the defendant’s threats, only to return to Dubai for work. Financial disputes and jealousy further fueled the conflict, leading to the tragic outcome.
On the murder day, the defendant, armed with a knife and other tools, confronted the victim outside her apartment, leading to a violent altercation that ended her life. Despite initially fleeing the scene, the perpetrator was later apprehended near a shopping mall in another emirate.
