The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has officially opened the application period today for its two major scholarship programs—the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)—for incoming first-year college students for School Year 2026–2027.
Applications will be accepted from November 10 to November 28, 2025, and must be submitted exclusively through the OWWA Scholarship Portal at https://scholarship.owwa.gov.ph.
The EDSP offers financial support of up to ₱60,000 per academic year to qualified dependents (children or siblings) of active OWWA-member OFWs pursuing 4- to 5-year college degrees in accredited Philippine universities.
Meanwhile, the CMWSP provides the same level of assistance, with particular focus on Science and Technology (S&T) courses. It is open to deserving active OFWs or their dependents, subject to qualifying exams and income requirements.
OWWA earlier emphasized that these programs aim to support high-performing students and ease the financial burden on OFW families sending children to college. Applicants are reminded to prepare required documents early, including proof of OWWA membership, academic records, and identification papers.
Both EDSP and CMWSP undergo competitive screening, with some categories requiring a qualifying examination administered by the DOST–Science Education Institute.
OWWA encourages students and families to submit applications ahead of the deadline to avoid system congestion and ensure complete compliance with documentary requirements.
