Apple fans in the UAE can finally get their hands on the highly anticipated iPhone 16, as the latest model officially hits stores today. In the past, iPhone releases have drawn massive crowds, with customers camping overnight and long queues snaking through malls. However, this year, Apple has introduced new measures to manage the frenzy, including online reservations, purchase limits, and designated pickup times.
Despite these precautions, crowds are still expected, and security measures have been tightened, especially at popular spots like Dubai Mall and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.
According to a Khaleej Times report, early shoppers like Hilal Raza, a Pakistani expat, and Saquib Hassan, an iPhone enthusiast, were among those who secured their phones in advance. Both reserved their devices on September 13 and arrived early to collect their new iPhone 16 Pro Max models.
However, many customers without prior reservations were turned away, as Apple strictly enforced its new rules, requiring proof of reservation and limiting purchases to two phones per Apple ID user.
With heightened security and tighter controls, those planning to head to the stores are reminded to have their reservations ready, as only confirmed buyers are being allowed entry.
