Apple begins rolling out ChatGPT integration across devices

Apple has started incorporating OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its devices, a feature expected to enhance the functionality of its latest products and boost sales during the peak holiday season.

The integration is part of Apple’s broader deployment of AI-powered tools in its latest operating system updates for iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers. Announced earlier this year as part of the Apple Intelligence initiative, the update enables Siri to leverage ChatGPT for tasks like answering queries about photos and documents, creating written content, and generating images.

This new functionality will be available on the iPhone 16 series and the Pro and Pro Max models of the iPhone 15. Devices such as iPads with A17 Pro or M1 chips and later, as well as Macs equipped with M1 chips or newer, will also support the features.

The rollout comes amid heightened investor scrutiny, as the AI tools are seen as a potential driver for Apple’s most lucrative sales period of the year. However, concerns remain about the impact of these features on the iPhone 16 sales cycle due to their gradual implementation.
