Angelika dela Cruz reveals death threats amid Malabon vice mayoral bid

Actress and politician Angelika dela Cruz has publicly revealed that she and her family have received death threats, which she believes are connected to her candidacy for the position of vice mayor in Malabon.

Dela Cruz shared the alarming incident on her Facebook page last Friday, May 9. She posted a photo of three bullets alongside a handwritten note, which contained a chilling message: “Angelika Dela Cruz, may you have a blessed day! Withdraw from the race for Vice Mayor of Malabon! If not, you know what will happen to you and your family!”

Reacting to the threatening message, the actress expressed her frustration, saying, “Siniraan, kinasuhan, ngayon naman tinatakot—anong kasunod?!! Grabe na pati family ko dinadamay ninyo.” (They have tried to tarnish my reputation, filed cases against me, and now they are threatening me—what’s next? This is too much, even involving my family.)

She is currently dealing with a plunder complaint filed by the Office of the Ombudsman, accusing her of misappropriating at least PHP 70 million. The actress’s revelation has sparked a wave of support from netizens, with many expressing their concern and encouraging her to stay strong. Comments poured in, such as, “Ingat po Ms Angelika!” (Take care, Ms. Angelika!) and “Mag-pray ka lang kay Jesus na bigyan ka ng courage.” (Just pray to Jesus for courage.)

Angelika dela Cruz, who has been balancing her career in show business and public service, is yet to announce any further actions regarding the threats. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident to ensure her safety and that of her family.
