In a candid interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” actress Angeli Khang shared that she and her mother have filed a case against her father for physical abuse. The Vivamax actress revealed that the abuse took place during her childhood, affecting both her and her brother.
Angeli recounted how their father’s strict discipline, influenced by his background as a former U.S. military officer, turned into excessive physical punishment. “It became too much for us to handle, the both of us, me and my brother,” Angeli explained. She described instances where her father would beat her brother with a wooden plank, leaving him with bruises so severe they turned purple.
The situation escalated to the point where her brother fled to the Philippines, leaving Angeli alone to endure further abuse. She recounted how her father once forced her head into a dishwashing sink and deprived her of food for a week, forcing her to survive on fruits from their garden.
For a long time, Angeli believed that this treatment was a normal part of parenting. “I actually thought that was a normal parenting hood,” she admitted. However, the severity of the abuse became evident when her school in Saipan intervened, prompting her father to send her back to the Philippines.
Upon her return, Angeli’s mother, shocked by her daughter’s condition, immediately filed a case against her father. A warrant of arrest has since been issued against him, and Angeli expressed relief that justice is being served. Despite the trauma, Angeli stated that she would forgive her father if he asked for it, acknowledging that “there will always be judgment.”
