American man and Filipina wife stabbed to death in Leyte house

An 81-year-old American man and his 65-year-old Filipina wife were found brutally killed inside their home in Sitio Talong, Barangay Liloan, Ormoc City, in what police suspect to be a case of robbery-homicide.

Authorities identified the victims only by their aliases, “Jack” and “Jean.” Their bodies were discovered at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, after Jean’s sister visited the couple and sensed something was wrong. She sought help from a local vendor, who promptly notified Ormoc City Police Station 3.

Responding officers found both victims with multiple stab wounds, and their home had clearly been ransacked. Scattered personal belongings and a disheveled interior led police to consider robbery as a possible motive behind the killings.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) from the Ormoc City Forensic Unit were dispatched to gather evidence from the residence. Authorities have not yet identified any suspects as of this writing.
