Senator Sherwin Gatchalian revealed that the baptismal certificates of the alleged siblings of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo are fake. This discovery was made during a hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Monday.
Gatchalian stated that they uncovered baptismal certificates for Seimen Leal Guo and Wesley Leal Guo, supposedly issued by the “Parokya ng San Roque” in Caloocan. These documents indicated that both individuals were born in Caloocan City to parents “Angelito Guo” and “Amelia Leal.”
“We requested some documents and found out that Seimen Leal Guo and Wesley Leal Guo had baptismal certificates from a church in Caloocan,” Gatchalian said.
However, a letter dated June 6 from San Roque Cathedral Parish denied issuing these certificates. “We did not find any baptismal records of the said individuals,” stated Parochial Vicar Rev. Fr. Leo Pepito.
As a result, Gatchalian declared the certificates “spurious.” He explained, “In other words, the baptismal certificate from Caloocan is fake. They faked it.”
The certificates were reportedly issued by Antonio Alcalde, who, according to Lucena Flores of the Caloocan City Civil Registry Office, has passed away.
Mayor Guo is currently at the center of a Senate inquiry regarding her alleged involvement with a raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub and her identity as a Filipino. The National Bureau of Investigation confirmed that Guo and Chinese passport holder Guo Hua Ping share the same fingerprints. Similarly, her alleged brother, Wesley Leal Guo, was found to have the same fingerprints as Chinese citizen Guo Xiang Dan.
Additionally, Guo faces a human trafficking complaint linked to the raided POGO hub. She is referred to as “a.k.a Guo Hua Ping” in the complaint. A petition seeking to remove her from office has also been filed in a Manila court.
