All 28 luxury cars linked to Discaya now in BOC custody

A total of 28 luxury vehicles linked to the family of contractor Sarah Discaya are now under the custody of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), the agency confirmed Thursday.

The most recent development came after the Discaya family voluntarily turned over 16 additional vehicles on the same day. These come on top of the 12 seized earlier this week from the Pasig City compound of St. Gerard Construction General Contractor and Development Corp., which is reportedly linked to Discaya.

According to the BOC, the newly surrendered vehicles are currently being sealed, documented, and secured by Customs personnel. These steps are part of the ongoing process to verify their importation history and assess any outstanding taxes and duties.

The agency assured the public that the investigation is being carried out in coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to ensure transparency and accountability.

Earlier this week, during a Senate blue ribbon committee hearing into alleged irregularities in flood-control projects, Discaya acknowledged owning 28 luxury vehicles.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, in a statement, clarified that while the vehicles are now secured, they have not been officially confiscated. “The vehicles will be returned if the owners can prove the legitimacy of their purchase and settle any tax liabilities,” he said.
