Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo posted bail on Friday for graft charges but remains detained due to other legal cases and contempt orders from both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Guo, who is currently held at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame, posted bail amounting to P270,000 and P540,000 for violations of Section 3(e) and 3(h) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. These charges were filed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government over her alleged involvement in a raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) operation in Bamban.
Her arraignment, initially scheduled for Friday, was postponed after her legal team filed a motion to quash the charges. Guo also faces a non-bailable human trafficking case in Pasig, with a court order transferring her to the city jail. In addition, she has been charged with 87 counts of money laundering and is facing a quo warranto petition to challenge her mayoral position.
Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, has denied all the accusations against her.
