Alden Richards takes flight as he begins pilot training journey

Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards has officially embarked on a new personal mission—becoming a licensed pilot.

On Instagram, veteran entertainment reporter Nelson Canlas gave fans a first glimpse of Alden in his flight school uniform, hinting at an exciting new chapter in the actor’s life. “New uniform. Real drills. A different kind of takeoff,” Canlas captioned the post, teasing further details in a report set to air on 24 Oras.

Richards himself shared photos in uniform beside a small aircraft and alongside his family, marking his first day of training with the simple but meaningful caption: “Day 1 starts today…”

While Alden is known for his stellar career in acting and hosting, this pursuit brings him full circle to a dream he once shelved. In a past interview, he opened up about his childhood ambition of becoming a pilot, a goal he initially let go due to the high cost of training.

The actor was recently seen participating in relief efforts in typhoon-hit Bulacan and Quezon City alongside Bianca De Vera and Dustin Yu—showcasing his continued commitment to public service.

Currently hosting Stars on the Floor, which he calls the best show he’s ever hosted, Alden is also expected to attend the highly anticipated GMA Gala 2025 as the network celebrates its 75th anniversary.
