Al Khail Road gets new bridge, reducing travel time to Deira by 70%

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the inauguration of a new two-lane bridge on Al Khail Road, between the intersections of Al Khamila and Hessa Street, aimed at easing traffic flow towards Deira. The bridge can accommodate 3,200 vehicles per hour and is part of a broader effort to improve transportation efficiency in the area.

Along with the 700-metre bridge, improvements to surface roads spanning 900 metres were also completed as part of the project. The RTA emphasized that the bridge enhances traffic movement from Jumeirah Village Circle to Al Khail Road, connecting key residential and development areas.

According to Mattar Al Tayer, RTA’s director-general, this project is expected to reduce travel time for motorists by up to 70 per cent. Additionally, two other bridges were opened on September 15 under the Garn Al Sabkha-Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road Intersection Improvement Project.
