Al Barsha Police seize over 650 scooters in crackdown on traffic violators

Authorities at Al Barsha Police Station confiscated a total of 656 scooters last year due to traffic violations committed by riders, underscoring the station’s intensified efforts to enforce road safety regulations.

The figure was highlighted during an inspection led by His Excellency Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs at Dubai Police, as part of the annual review of police station operations and performance.

The visit was attended by key officials including H.E. Ahmad Thani bin Ghalita, Acting Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs; H.E. Major General Expert Dr. Mohammad Issa Al Adhab, Chairperson of the Police Stations Directors’ Council; Brigadier Majid Al Suwaidi, Director of Al Barsha Police Station; his Deputy Colonel Yusuf Thani Al Muhairi; and other senior officers.

During the inspection, Maj. Gen. Al Shamsi reviewed the station’s strategic indicators and commended its achievements, including a 100% presence rate of officers at incident scenes and consistent performance in emergency response times and crime prevention metrics. He also examined updates on fatality rates and serious crimes within the jurisdiction.

In the area of road safety, the station presented its efforts in curbing unsafe driving behaviors through security operations and checkpoint deployments. The seizure of hundreds of scooters formed a part of this drive, targeting traffic law offenders.

Al Shamsi also lauded the station’s Administrative Affairs Section for its role in boosting staff well-being. Initiatives to support officers’ physical and mental health, career development, and morale resulted in a 97% job satisfaction rate, with all staff recognized for their efforts and 90% completing professional training over the year.
