Al Ain Zoo has thrown open its gates to students at no cost until November 12, coinciding with the launch of the 5th Conservation Festival 2023 this Wednesday. Under the theme “Nature’s Sustainability,” the festival is set to feature a myriad of activities across the Zoo, including exhibitions, theatres, and the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre, alongside dining venues.
Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director-General of Al Ain Zoo, underscored the festival’s timing with COP28, the global climate event hosted by the UAE, to amplify conservation efforts. The festival aims to involve the community in sustainability practices and educate the young on the imperative of nature conservation.
Participants can look forward to sustainability workshops, art sessions, a carnival, an organic market, and exhibits by organizations driving sustainability innovations. A highlight is the “Zookeepers’ Talks,” an initiative to raise awareness about unique animal species.
