The Ajman Transport Authority revealed new taxi fares for September following the latest announcement on fuel prices. Starting this month, the cab fare has been set at Dh1.90 per kilometre, up from Dh1.84 in August, marking a 6-fil increase.
This hike comes as fuel prices in the country have risen for the third consecutive month.
The price of Super 98 petrol has jumped from Dh3.14 to Dh3.42 per litre, while Special 95 has increased from Dh3.02 to Dh3.31. E-Plus 91 also saw an increase, now priced at Dh3.23, up by 9.5 per cent or 28 fils more than last month.
Although fares and fuel prices are on the rise, it’s worth noting that local rates are still about one-third cheaper than the global average.
