Ajman Police swiftly apprehended a suspect on Monday, accused of murder and arson in the industrial area of the emirate. The arrest, according to a Khaleej Times report, occurred just 10 minutes after the suspect allegedly initiated a fire in a store, following the stabbing of an Asian woman and the severe injuring of three other Asian nationals.
Lieutenant-Colonel Saeed Ali Al Madhani, Deputy Director of the Operations Department at Ajman Police, stated that upon receiving a report about the murder and subsequent fire, police teams were dispatched immediately. The suspect reportedly used a sharp weapon in the attacks and set the establishment ablaze.
Civil defence units were able to extinguish the fire, while the injured parties were transported to a hospital for treatment. Initial investigations suggest the suspect was involved in an illegal relationship with the victim, which was marred by prior personal disputes. The suspect has confessed to both the murder and the arson during interrogation, according to the police.
