Turkish Airlines has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records™ as the airline flying to the most countries worldwide, securing the title of “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline.”
The achievement was celebrated at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport during the airline’s inaugural flight to Chile, its latest destination. The ceremony was attended by Turkish Airlines executives and Guinness World Records™ officials.
Based on active routes over the past 12 months, Turkish Airlines achieved the record with flights to 120 countries. However, when including temporarily suspended routes and the new Chile route, the airline’s network now spans 131 countries.
Commenting on the recognition, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi said, “We are delighted to be in Santiago, Chile, our newest route launched today, and to receive the Guinness World Records™ title. For over a decade, we have proudly held this distinction, connecting people, cultures, and destinations around the globe.”
Guinness World Records™ VP Talal Omar praised the airline’s achievement, emphasizing its dedication to connecting the world and its vital role in global aviation. “This remarkable accomplishment affirms Turkish Airlines’ position as a leader in international travel,” he said.
