According to the most recent occupational wages survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for 2022, aircraft pilots and related associate professionals in the Air Transport industry have emerged as the top earners in the Philippines, with an impressive average monthly wage rate of P135,363.
Tintin Ariola, the OIC Chief of PSA Labor Standards and Relations Statistics Division, noted that mathematicians had topped a previous survey, but acquiring data on pilots’ salaries proved challenging during the pandemic.
Software developers in Information Service Activities secured the second spot with an average monthly wage rate of P70,595. Mathematicians and actuaries followed closely in third place, earning an average wage rate of P69,654 per month, particularly in sectors like Insurance, Reinsurance, and Pension Funding, as highlighted by Ariola in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.
Production Supervisors and General Foremen, with an average monthly wage rate of P63,017, and Applications Programmers, earning P58,643 on average per month, ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
Specialist medical practitioners claimed the sixth position, with an average monthly wage rate of P57,476, followed by statisticians, earning P51,607 on average per month.
Completing the top ten highest-paying jobs list were medical doctors/generalist medical practitioners (P51,251), geologists (P49,059), and accountants (P48,892).
