Air Canada has officially launched its pioneering four-times weekly direct service between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). This marks the airline’s debut in offering non-stop flights connecting the Middle East with Western Canada. This new route joins Air Canada’s existing daily flights between Dubai and Toronto.
The service will utilize the advanced Boeing 787-9 aircraft, designed to carry 298 passengers. Travelers can choose from three service classes: Economy, Premium Economy, and the luxurious Air Canada Signature Class. The latter boasts expansive lie-flat seating, personalized attention, gourmet food, extra baggage allowances, and access to priority airport services. The flight timings have been set to streamline connections with Air Canada’s broad North American network, as well as Emirates’ expansive routes beyond Dubai. Booking is available via aircanada.com, the Air Canada App, Air Canada’s Contact Centres, and various travel agencies.
Mary-Jane Lorette, Air Canada’s Vice President of International Affairs, Network and Partnerships, expressed her enthusiasm. She remarked, “Our new Dubai-Vancouver flights amplify our presence in rapidly expanding global markets like the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East.” The move to Dubai International Terminal 3 signifies the strengthening partnership between Air Canada and Emirates. This alliance offers connections to over 200 destinations across both airlines’ networks with the added perk of a single-ticket journey. Eligible passengers can also access Emirates’ signature Business Class Lounges in Dubai, while Aeroplan Members will enjoy frequent flyer benefits on Emirates-operated flights.
Rob Whitehouse, Vice President of Research at Dubai Airports, welcomed the Vancouver addition, highlighting the smooth connection between the Canadian West Coast and Dubai.
The Consul General of Canada in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Mr. Tracy Reynolds, said, “This inaugural flight between Vancouver and Dubai signifies a monumental occasion, bridging two dynamic cities across different continents.” He emphasized the benefits for tourism, business, and the 45,000 Canadians residing in the UAE.
