Sharjah-based budget airline Air Arabia has updated its hand baggage policy, allowing passengers to carry up to 10 kilograms of cabin baggage. This is an increase from the 7kg limit observed by most other airlines.
According to the airline’s website, the 10kg allowance includes carry-on bags, personal items, and duty-free purchases. The maximum dimensions for carry-on bags are 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, while personal items must not exceed 25cm x 33cm x 20cm.
The revised policy applies to all flights departing from Air Arabia’s hubs in Sharjah, Egypt, and Morocco. Passengers traveling with infants are permitted an additional hand baggage of up to 3kg for infant essentials, provided it can fit under the seat in front. This additional bag must be declared at check-in and tagged as a personal item.
The airline also emphasized that all cabin baggage will be checked for compliance with weight, size, and quantity restrictions at boarding gates. Excess baggage will incur a fee of AED 100 per piece.
Air Arabia clarified that passengers may carry only one personal item, such as a laptop bag, handbag, or satchel, which must also fit under the seat and be declared at check-in for tagging.
