Kristofer, a 36-year-old UK expatriate and a recognized figure in Dubai’s professional football scene, struck gold in the 143rd Mahzooz draw held on August 27, 2023, winning an eye-watering AED 1,000,000 ($272,250). This isn’t his first win with Mahzooz; the father of two has won 12 times in the past.
Working in the oil and gas supply chain industry and having resided in Dubai for the last eight years, Kristofer revealed that he takes part in the Mahzooz draws weekly. “Every week, I take part in Mahzooz draws, because you can’t win if you’re not in it,” said the newly-minted millionaire. As of now, he has not yet told his family about his latest windfall.
The Mahzooz draw, a popular raffle in the UAE, offers participants the chance to win big for the price of a AED 35 ($9.53) bottle of Mahzooz water. The raffle includes a weekly Grand Draw with a top prize of AED 20 million ($5.4 million) and a guaranteed AED 1 million win every week.
Though Kristofer grabbed the limelight this week, he wasn’t the only winner. Seng-Boon, a Singaporean expat and a past AED 1 million winner, took home AED 200,000 ($54,450), shared with 19 other participants. Additionally, Muhammad, a 39-year-old Pakistani expat in sales, won AED 50,000 worth of 22-karat gold coins.
The Mahzooz Golden draw series continues, with the 5th draw set to take place on September 2nd, offering a guaranteed prize of AED 50,000 in gold coins.
