A new bus route connecting Dubai and Sharjah officially began operations on Friday, May 2, offering commuters a convenient and affordable option at just Dh12 per trip. The new Route E308 runs between Dubai’s Stadium Bus Station and Sharjah’s Al Jubail Bus Station, enhancing intercity connectivity between the two bustling emirates.
The launch is part of a broader effort by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to strengthen the public transport network across the UAE. Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, saying that boosting intermodal connectivity is a key step in making public transportation the preferred choice for residents and visitors.
In line with this development, the RTA has also introduced changes to 14 other routes across the city to improve efficiency and streamline services. Route 17 now terminates at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha, while Route 24 has been rerouted within Al Nahda 1. Route 44 has been extended to cover Dubai Festival City, and Route 56 now reaches DWC Staff Village. Routes 66 and 67 include a new stop at Al Ruwayah Farm.
Meanwhile, Route 32C has been shortened, and passengers are advised to transfer to Route F27 to reach Al Satwa. Route C26 now includes a stop at Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2, and Route E16 ends at Union Bus Station. Route F12 has been redirected through Kuwait Street, skipping Al Wasl Park. The bus stops for Routes F27 and X92 have been moved near Max Metro Land Side, Route F47 was rerouted within Jebel Ali Industrial Area, and Route F54 now serves JAFZA South labor camp.
