AED 7.50 peak-hour booking fee set for Dubai taxi apps

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced updated taxi booking charges for rides reserved through smart applications, introducing a peak-hour booking fee of AED 7.50.

According to a report by Gulf News, the new fare structure takes effect immediately and varies depending on the time and day. From Monday to Thursday, the AED 7.50 fee will apply during the busiest travel windows — 8 a.m. to 9:59 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7:59 p.m. — with a flagfall rate of AED 5.

During off-peak hours between 6 a.m. and 7:59 a.m. and 10 a.m. to 3:59 p.m., the booking fee drops to AED 4, while night-hour trips (10 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.) are charged AED 4.50.

On Fridays, the AED 7.50 rate extends longer — from 8 a.m. to 9:59 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 9:59 p.m., and again from 10 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. — before transitioning to a night-hour rate of AED 4.50 past midnight.

For Saturdays and Sundays, peak-hour booking fees of AED 7.50 apply between 4 p.m. and 9:59 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., while off-peak bookings remain at AED 4 during daytime hours.

The RTA clarified that the minimum fare for app-based taxi rides will now be AED 13.
