Residents of the UAE now have a unique opportunity to see their creative vision come to life on the iconic Burj Khalifa. Emaar, the master developer, has launched a competition inviting artists, designers, and creatives to submit original projection videos and animations to be displayed on the world’s tallest building.
The competition, open from May 6 to 26, offers a grand prize of Dh100,000 to the winning design, which will be projected on the Burj Khalifa’s stunning façade. The challenge calls for dynamic three-minute visual content that embodies innovation, creativity, and the vibrant culture of Dubai. To ensure smooth projection, participants must follow specific technical guidelines, which can be accessed on the Burj Khalifa website.
Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar highlighted the initiative as a celebration of creativity, stating, “We believe that talent knows no boundaries… Burj Khalifa stands not only as a symbol of human achievement but also as a canvas for creativity and innovation.”
The competition follows a major upgrade to the building’s façade lighting system, unveiled during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations in December 2024. This upgrade paved the way for Burj Khalifa’s 15th anniversary earlier this year.
To participate, creatives should send their submissions to opencall@emaar.ae, along with a brief concept description explaining the inspiration behind their design.
