Actor Dominic Roque has taken legal action against entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin, filing a criminal case for cyber libel at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Pasig City.
The basis for Roque’s case stems from alleged malicious statements and insinuations made by Fermin on her YouTube channel “Showbiz Now Na,” as detailed by Canlas in an Instagram post.
Fermin, speaking to GMA News Online, revealed she learned about the case through messages from GMA. “I only found out about Dom’s case through GMA’s messages. It is his right, and I will wait for the subpoena,” she stated.
Earlier in May, actress Bea Alonzo also filed a cyber libel case against Fermin, along with Ogie Diaz and their co-hosts on their online shows. Alonzo’s affidavit claims she was subjected to false, malicious, and damaging information spread by individuals who pretended to be close to her.
Roque and Alonzo had previously been in the news after Boy Abunda confirmed their split in February. The couple, who got engaged in July 2023 and were planning a wedding this year, announced the end of their engagement and relationship.
