Abu Dhabi: Two men in possesion of 5kg of cocaine arrested

Abu Dhabi police have successfully arrested two men in possession of five kilograms of cocaine.

The police acted swiftly on corroborated intelligence, apprehending individuals belonging to an active international gang aimed at promoting narcotics and fostering negative influences within the Middle Eastern societies.

The two arrested men hail from different backgrounds, with one of Latino descent and the other of Arab origin.

Their capture is seen as a massive blow to the operations of the international gang they were representing.

Speaking about the operation, Major Tahir Gharib Al-Zahri, the Director of the Anti-Drugs Directorate at the Criminal Security Sector of Abu Dhabi Police, detailed the meticulous planning that enabled this successful mission.

The team leveraged proactive surveillance and a strategic court security plan, meticulously monitoring the suspects before orchestrating the apprehension.

The police have showcased an unyielding commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in the region, utilising modern technologies and methods to intercept criminals looking to introduce harmful substances into the community, with the youth being their primary target.

The operation demonstrated the advanced working system of the Anti-Drug Directorate, which brings together smart techniques and expert human resources to detect and counter various criminal activities.
