The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has temporarily suspended operations at two industrial facilities after finding excessive pollution levels that posed risks to public health and the environment.
According to a Khaleej Times report, one of the facilities was also fined for failing to comply with environmental regulations, the EAD announced on Friday. Inspections and air quality monitoring revealed that pollutant levels at the sites had exceeded permissible limits.
The agency reaffirmed its dedication to enforcing environmental standards and urged industrial operators to follow regulations to ensure the safety of the community and the preservation of natural resources.
To combat air pollution, Abu Dhabi has implemented several initiatives, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting clean energy, and introducing stricter measures for vehicles and traffic management.
