Abu Dhabi rolls out installment plan for traffic fines in customer-friendly move

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi has launched a new “easy payment” service. This innovative service allows customers to pay their traffic fines in installments, a first of its kind initiative in the region.

Starting Monday, the service is available to credit card holders from First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and Emirates Islamic Bank. The ITC has also announced plans to expand this facility to include more banks by the first half of 2024.

This customer-friendly service enables motorists to pay ITC fines in multiple installments, provided the total amount exceeds Dh3,000. To avail of this service, customers can visit TAMM service centres or the Customer Happiness Centres located at the Abu Dhabi City Municipality and Al Ain City Municipality headquarters.

The scheme offers flexible payment options, allowing motorists to spread their fine payments over three, six, nine, or twelve months. Notably, this installment plan is interest-free, adding to the financial relief for residents.

To utilize this service, customers need to pay their fines using a credit card at one of the specified centres. Subsequently, they must contact their bank to set up the installment payment plan for the period they prefer.
