Abu Dhabi Police have introduced a smart robot designed to interact with the public, respond to questions, and promote traffic safety awareness. The robot, with a human-like structure, will assist in educational lectures and instruct the public on various guidelines, including the importance of stopping when a school bus’s ‘Stop’ sign is extended.
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, under the supervision of national cadres, has programmed this innovative robot. Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, emphasized in a Khaleej Times report that this advanced technology has significantly enhanced police and security work, saving time and yielding effective results.
In addition to answering queries, the smart robot can display digital traffic awareness videos, offer traffic advice, and host traffic-related competitions, making it a versatile tool in promoting road safety.
