Abu Dhabi motorists now have the chance to save up to 35% on traffic fines if they pay early under the newly introduced “Pay early, gain surely” initiative. The discount percentage depends on how soon the fine is settled, Khaleej Times reported.
Those who pay within 60 days of committing a violation can get a 35% discount, though this does not apply to severe infractions. Meanwhile, fines settled between 60 days and one year after the violation are eligible for a 25% discount.
The initiative aims to prevent fines from piling up and ease financial burdens on drivers.
In a similar move, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) previously introduced an instalment plan, allowing users to pay fines and service fees through the financial platform Tabby.
