Abu Dhabi authorities are intensifying efforts to address violations of housing regulations, including the illegal rental of government properties and the unauthorized use of villas for commercial activities. The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) and the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) announced a field survey campaign on Tuesday, aimed at identifying and rectifying these infractions.
According to a Khaleej Times report, residents who violate housing rules will be given a one-month grace period to resolve the issue. Failure to comply will result in legal action, officials warned. Authorities emphasized that government housing must only be used for its intended purpose, prohibiting activities such as renting out properties or using them for business operations.
Majid Abdullah Al Muhairi, acting executive director of the Housing Benefits Allocation Sector, urged beneficiaries to comply with all regulations to maintain clean and orderly communities. Residents are also encouraged to report violations through the Tamm app.
In addition to the crackdown, awareness campaigns will be conducted to inform homeowners about available financing solutions, including loans for maintenance, demolition, and reconstruction.
