Abu Dhabi authorities have expanded the scope of the freelancer licence by adding 30 new activities, according to an announcement by the Abu Dhabi Business Centre (ADBC) on Thursday.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the new activities include fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) development, electronic equipment design, oil and natural gas software development, data analysis, and 3D imaging.
The freelancer professional licence allows qualified individuals to offer their services to companies, institutions, and individuals. To qualify for the licence, applicants must demonstrate experience or have academic or professional achievements in their respective fields. The licence can be obtained through the TAMM app.
Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri, executive director of ADBC, highlighted that 1,013 licences were issued last year and emphasized the commitment to fostering an innovative environment in Abu Dhabi, positioning the city as a hub for talent, businesses, and investment.
