Beginning January 2026, the Filipino Nursing Diaspora (FiND) Network will open a new chapter in its global journey with the leadership of Dr. Jed Montayre, who will assume the presidency from Professor Violeta Lopez, the Network’s founding president and visionary leader.
Dr. Montayre currently serves as Associate Professor and Associate Head (Strategy) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Nursing, and Director of the JBI Hong Kong Centre of Evidence-based Healthcare Excellence. A nurse academic and researcher whose work spans the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, and Hong Kong, he brings a wealth of international experience and a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, nursing innovation, and health equity.
Recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists (Stanford/Elsevier, 2025), Dr. Montayre has made significant contributions to healthy ageing, workforce wellbeing, digital health, and implementation science. His leadership extends beyond academia—he has advised the World Health Organization, co-led national and global initiatives, and nurtured future nurse scholars through mentorship and research collaboration.
Reflecting on his new role, Dr. Montayre said, “The Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network represents the heart, talent, and global impact of Filipino nurses worldwide. As we move forward, I envision a stronger platform that unites research, education, leadership, and advocacy—empowering every Filipino nurse to be a catalyst for change wherever they are in the world.”
Outgoing president Professor Violeta Lopez, who will assume the role of President Emeritus, expressed her full confidence in Dr. Montayre’s leadership. “Jed embodies the excellence, intellect, and compassion that define the Filipino nursing spirit. His vision and global experience will lead FiND to greater heights of collaboration, research, and influence.”
Under his stewardship, FiND Network is poised to expand its reach—strengthening partnerships across continents, fostering diaspora-driven research, and amplifying the Filipino voice in global health policy and innovation.
As the Network transitions to this new leadership era, it carries forward a legacy of unity and excellence—building bridges among Filipino nurses across borders and reaffirming their role as global leaders in care, science, and humanity.
