New mental health centre opens in UAE, capable of serving 6,000 patients monthly

Reem Hospital has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to comprehensive healthcare with the inauguration of the Reem Neuroscience Centre. The newly opened center is dedicated to providing integrated rehabilitation services and comprehensive mental healthcare, catering to a diverse range of needs.

The Reem Neuroscience Centre boasts a team of highly qualified psychiatrists and clinical psychologists, offering both outpatient clinics and an inpatient psychiatric department. With a capacity to serve over 6,000 patients monthly across 25 treatment rooms, the center ensures seamless support for individuals seeking psychiatry, psychotherapy, child psychiatry, and addiction treatment services.

In addition to its comprehensive offerings, the Centre features a specialized laboratory for diagnosing attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and provides specialized beds for conditions such as eating disorders, mood disorders, and psychosis. Furthermore, it offers cutting-edge treatment options for Alzheimer’s disease and child psychiatry.

The inauguration of the Reem Neuroscience Centre aligns with Reem Hospital’s ongoing efforts to enhance mental healthcare services. Plans for further expansion, including the addition of 25 new inpatient psychiatric beds, underscore the hospital’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for specialized mental health services in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health (DoH), praised Reem Hospital’s initiative, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the mental and physical wellbeing of the community. Zaid Al Siksek, Chairman of Reem Hospital and Reem Neuroscience Centre, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the center’s role in enhancing the quality of life within the community in alignment with DoH’s priorities.
