Apple advises iPhone users not to sleep beside charging devices

Apple has issued a cautionary advisory to iPhone users about the potential risks of sleeping next to their devices while charging.

The company’s safety information manual urges customers to employ “common sense” and keep the device, power adapter, and wireless charger away from direct skin contact when they’re connected to a power source.

The guidance further specifies, “Don’t sleep on a device, power adapter, or wireless charger, or place them under a blanket, pillow, or your body.”

The company also recommends charging the phone facing upwards and ensuring it’s in a well-ventilated space.

Highlighting the risks, Apple mentions that those with physical conditions affecting their heat detection should be extra cautious.

The manual goes on to warn against prolonged skin contact with the charging cable and connector, emphasizing that such practices can result in discomfort or even injury. The company strongly suggests not sleeping or sitting on the charging cable.

In essence, Apple’s message is clear: safety first when it comes to charging and handling devices.
